Fuchikoma Fun Facts

In Masamune Shirow’s original Ghost in the Shell manga the spider‑tank robots are called “Fuchikoma,” but in the popular Stand Alone Complex anime they were renamed “Tachikoma” — a small, easily missed change. The anime also greatly expanded their childlike AIs, turning background mechs into some of the franchise’s most philosophically curious characters.
