In Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, the characters summon their Personas by using an item called an Evoker, which looks like a gun; they activate their Persona abilities by pointing the Evoker at their head and 'shooting' themselves, a gesture symbolic of facing and overcoming one's fear of death.
In Persona 3, there's a special day, January 31st, where the in-game music track changes to an exclusive song for that one day called Living With Determination -Iwatodai Station Arrange-, enhancing the atmosphere as the story reaches its climax.
