Professor Abraham Van Helsing was created by Bram Stoker as a key character in the novel Dracula, first published in 1897.
Van Helsing appeared for the first time in Bram Stoker's Dracula novel, where he acted as a vampire hunter and medical doctor.
Character inspired and portrayed in early monster movies, starting with 'Dracula' (1931) where inspiration from Van Helsing was evident though the character was called Van Helsing in later movie sequels by Universal.
The character was reimagined in the action-horror film 'Van Helsing' starring Hugh Jackman, broadening the character's modern appeal and introducing a new interpretation.
