Vindictus was one of the first video games to use Valve’s Source engine for a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), showcasing advanced physics and enhanced graphics uncommon in MMORPGs at the time of its release.
Vindictus features a unique modification to the typical MMORPG loot system, allowing players to actively target and dismantle specific parts of a monster's body to obtain desired materials or loot, adding a strategic layer to boss fights and monster encounters.
