The concept for SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron was created by Christian and Yvon Tremblay as a new animated series featuring anthropomorphic cats who are vigilante pilots.
SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron premiered on TBS as part of their animation block, introducing audiences to the adventures of Razor and T-Bone.
The original run of SWAT Kats ended after two seasons and 25 episodes due to network decisions and changes in production priorities.
Announced interest and plans to revive SWAT Kats were made public, including talks of a reboot or continuation by original creators and new producers.
Season 1 was one of my favorite anime binges in a long time. Such a fun mix of thoughtfulness (movement through time), silliness, and cool scenes (The Ruins of The King's Tomb). I can't wait to watch season 2. I know it's airing as I write this, but I like taking in entire seasons at once if I can manage it.
